A Brief History . . .
The name Minos was derived from the mythological figure, King Minos.
King Minos was a legendary ruler of the Greek island Crete, described by Homer as a son of Zeus (king of the gods on Mount Olympus) and Europa (a personification of Europe). Minos is most famously associated with tales of his deadly Labyrinth and the Minotaur (Mino’s Bull) who inhabited it.
